Learn about my art
55I've been married to my husband Matthew for a year and a half now. Marriage has been a great decision :)
On this page I would like to share with you a few pictures from my art journey as well as give you a little more information about the background for why I am so passionate about this project.
I started drawing portraits for people when I was fifteen. The love for drawing grew to be a big part of my life. After pursuing portrait drawing whole heartedly for some time, the goals that I had for my art changed.
Here is one of the fair booths that I have had to promote my art. This one was back in 2005
Here is one of the many portraits that I have done for my clients.
After several years of drawing people and also having come into contact with the art of ornamental penmanship, a new desire for my work was born. I wanted it to have more of an eternal purpose than just preserving peoples memories.
I believe very strongly in the power of words to impact people. There are many important truths that we hear over the course of our lives that are soon forgotten. Those are the things that I would like to base my art upon. I would like to focus on things that would encourage Families, Marriages and Moms because those are subjects that have become very important to me personally and I also believe that they are topics that are urgently needed in the world today.
As an example of how words and art can be combined, here is a piece the I did for a client three years ago.
Since then as I've continued to progress in my skills, it has been exciting to discover the endless possibilities that there are for making my art more effective. It is the lure of those possibilities that drives me on!
The tools that I am eagerly hoping to purchase soon will greatly accelerate my progress as I am developing different styles of writing and drawing that will most effectively communicate the individual message that each piece of art has to offer.
I am looking forward to receiving your response to my project. Thanks for your time, and have a great day!
Nancy Baird
